A MYANMAR firm is threatening legal action to force Fraser & Neave to sell its lucrative stake in a brewery there - a move that could sever the Singapore conglomerate's last link to brewing.
F&N owns 55 per cent of Myanmar Brewery, a market leader in the country, but its partner Myanmar Economic Holdings (MEHL) believes it can make it sell up.
MEHL, which holds the remaining 45 per cent of the brewer, has told F&N it will soon issue a notice of arbitration for a potential claim.
MEHL contends that the joint venture agreement gives it the right to force F&N to sell all its shares in Myanmar Brewery.
